HLS Talks

Founded by student initiative, HLS Talks is a student-speaker series that provides an open forum for us to share our stories and connect with each other as individuals: not just as law students. By sharing stories and not resumes, this event has become an integral part of our community. We invite all students to participate as speakers, listeners, and coaches.

Talks would not be possible without speakers and coaches. Consider nominating yourself or someone you know to give or coach a Talk —every perspective is welcome and encouraged. Most past participants did not have a background in public speaking, so do not hesitate to try something new.

The most recent HLS Talks, held in Spring 2026, welcomed over 50 guests for an intimate evening centered on Deeper Than Doctrine. This theme looks beyond black-letter law to examine the values, identities, and tensions that shape how law is truly lived.

HLS Talks will next be held in Fall 2026.
