Join Food Law Society, Animal Law Society, and Effective Altruists for a coffee chat with Professor Jonathan Lovvorn! Students will be able to discuss with Professor Lovvorn his extensive experience in litigation in the areas of animal agriculture, climate change, and wildlife law as well as his background in academia.
Professor Lovvorn currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Counsel for the Humane Society of the United States, where he founded and manages the nation’s largest animal protection litigation program. He has argued dozens of successful cases on behalf of both animals and the environment, authored or co-authored hundreds of state and federal animal protection reform laws, and served as the primary legal strategist for most of the major animal protection ballot measures enacted over the last 15 years. He also teachers Wildlife Law and Farmed Animal Law & Policy as a Lecturer on Law at HLS.
