Latter-day Saints Seen from Inside and Outside

Harvard Law students had the opportunity to join Professor Feldman and Judge Griffith, two longtime friends, as they shared perspectives—Professor Feldman from the “outside” as a scholar and Judge Griffith from the “inside” as a believer—on the history, beliefs, and adherents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Judge Griffith emphasized the role of Jesus Christ as the focus of our faith, while Professor Feldman discussed some of the interesting paradoxes that define our church and its role in the public square. The two then took questions from some of the over 100 people in attendance.

Institute

The institutes of religion program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides religious education for young adults ages 18 to 30. Institute is a safe haven from the pressures, trials, and challenges of the world. Institute is concerned with education for eternity and provides an opportunity for students to be touched and nurtured by the Spirit through classes and activities.

The objective of LDS institutes of religion is to help young adults understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven. For more general information, please visit www.churchofjesuschrist.org/si/institute.

Emails regarding the location and timing of institute are sent out on a weekly basis from our Academic & Records Chairperson.
