HLLDS organizes and sponsors a mix of spiritual, academic, and social activities throughout the year. A weekly Institute class, taught by CES (Church Education System) instructors allows students an opportunity to study the Gospel of Jesus Christ, often through the unique perspective of the law.
HLLDS also works to bring prominent LDS lawyers to campus each year to meet students and speak about their individual areas of expertise and accomplishments. Past speakers have included Apostles of the LDS Church, federal circuit and district court judges, United States senators, law professors, law firm partners, and other legal practitioners both in public and in private practice. A yearly highlight is Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 101, wherein a prominent speaker is brought to campus to speak about basic tenants of the LDS faith.
For the use of our members, HLLDS maintains its own collection of class outlines and alumni information, and we also conduct tips sessions for final exam preparation, job searches, and the law review competition. Finally, HLLDS sponsors a number of social events throughout the year where students and their families are able to develop lifelong friendships and enjoy the breadth of experiences available in Cambridge and throughout New England.
