Mentor-Mentee program
The Mentor-Mentee program pairs a new student (1L/LLM) with a returning student. The mentor helps the Mentee with his/her academic, social and professional well-being. The program aims to foster friendship and bond that lasts after graduation. CLA is committed to cultivate the next generation of leadership that is the key to the long-term influence and prosperity of CLA.

On November 18, 2019, CLA hosted a dinner panel featuring five 2L students who spent their 1L summer in various sectors/locations.
- On Feb. 16, 2016, CLA hosted a career development workshop with OCS. The event provided an opportunity for 1Ls to learn about the Early Interview Program (EIP) and how best to prepare. Yih-hsien from OCS provided a detailed account of EIP and discuss strategies for preparation.
- On Sept. 15, 2016, CLA hosted a panel discussion titled “Acing 1L – Study Tips from 2Ls”. The events provides an opportunity for 1Ls to learn about academic life at Harvard Law School. The 2L panelists discussed their experience in attending lectures, reading cases, and studying for exams.
- On April 8, 2016, CLA organized a panel discussion — Life at a Large Law Firm and EIP. The event provided an opportunity for 1Ls to learn about the Early Interview Program (EIP) and how best to prepare. The 2L and 3L panelists discussed their personal experience at EIP last year and the unique challenges they faced as Chinese J.D. students interviewing for summer positions at large U.S. law firms. Yih-hsien from OCS provided a detailed account of EIP and discuss strategies for market selection and firm bidding. Gangqiao (John) Wang from Ropes & Gray shared his experience at a large law firm in New York over the past five years and provide advice for EIP from an interviewer’s perspective.
