Nithin Venkatraman
President
Nithin is a JD/MPP from Howard County, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology. After graduation, he served for three years as Chief of Staff for State Senator Katie Fry Hester. In that role he worked on legislative efforts to expand access to mental and behavioral healthcare for Maryland’s K-12 students and incarcerated individuals, finance resilient infrastructure, reform cybersecurity governance, support Maryland’s small businesses and farmers, and led initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to make sure constituents could access vital public programs such as unemployment. Most recently Nithin worked with Free Speech for People as a Summer Law Associate assisting in legal advocacy efforts. Nithin spent this summer working with Free Speech for People assisting in legal advocacy efforts centered on strengthening Democratic accountability and institutions.
Raine Kennedy
Chief of Staff
Raine Kennedy is a 2L at Harvard Law School from Lafayette, Colorado. Before law school, she worked in DC as a litigation paralegal at Paul, Weiss. Raine Kennedy spent her 1L summer at Democracy Forward working on state impact litigation and regulatory advocacy. At HLS, she is involved with the Women’s Law Association, Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and the American Constitutional Society. In her free time, she loves hiking, running, and thrifting.
Kunal Dixit
Director of Policy
Kunal is a 2L at Harvard Law School from Flower Mound, Texas. He spent his 1L summer in Washington, DC as a legal fellow in Senator Elizabeth Warren’s office where he worked on, among other issues, voting rights and democracy reform. At HLS, Kunal is a member of the Board of Student Advisers and is involved with the South Asian Law Students Association, Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, and Election Law Clinic.
Nicoly Santos
Communications Director
Nikki is a 2L from North Carolina who graduated from Duke University. At HLS, she is a Child Advocacy Fellow, an Executive Director of the Human Rights Journal, co-leads a project team for Human Rights Advocates, serves as the justice chair for First Class, and is a member of La Alianza and the Child Advocacy Clinic. She spent her 1L summer at the Eastern District Court of New York.
Erica Newman-Corre
Director of Civic Engagement
Erica is a 2L at Harvard Law School from New York City. Before law school, she spent two years teaching high school science in New York. She is also the Social Co-Chair for the Jewish Law Students Association. During her 1L summer, Erica worked at Free Speech for People, focusing on election protection issues. In her spare time, she loves to cook, read, and do yoga.
Case Smith
Director of Finance
Case is a 2L at Harvard Law School from Culver City, CA. After graduating from Arizona State University in 2019, he worked in television production in Los Angeles. At HLS, Case also serves as a deputy policy director with EDP, is involved with the Journal of Law & Technology and the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, worked as a research assistant, and spent his summer at the Federal Communications Commission, interning in the Office of Commissioner Geoffrey Starks. In his (increasingly too little) spare time, Case enjoys spending his time outside and in the basement of Hemenway Gymnasium.
Amy Einstein
Deputy Director, Policy
Amy is a JD/MPP at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Law School graduating in 2026. In her most recent role at Heartland Alliance, Amy was the primary organizer for the passage of Illinois’s Predatory Loan Prevention Act, one of the most effective interest rate caps on payday loans in the country. One of her proudest accomplishments is successfully advocating alongside parent leaders for the first state budget appropriation to Illinois’s Children’s Savings Account program. Prior to this, she served as an Americorps VISTA at the Shriver Center on Poverty Law, where she advanced graduated income tax policy reforms and research. Amy’s community-building work is informed by her year as a Fulbright English teaching assistant in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. Amy graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University with a B.A. in history.
Lica Porcile
Deputy Director, Policy
Lica Porcile is a 2L at Harvard Law School originally from Brazil. Her prior work experience has centered around election law, particularly campaign finance, and she has conducted comparative anti corruption research in Latin America. In law school, she is involved in the Harvard Law and Policy Review, and in the Journal of Legislation. In college, she interned at the Brookings Institution doing voting rights and election law research, and during her 1L summer she worked at the Campaign Legal Center.
Kelly Murphy
Director of Membership
Kelly is a 2L from Massachusetts. Other than EDP, she is involved with the Harvard Mediation Program, the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, and Advocates for Human Rights. She spent her 1L summer at the National Redistricting Foundation. Before law school, she focused on peace-building and post-conflict reconstruction, studying in the UAE, Northern Ireland, and Tajikistan. She spends any free time she has desperately trying to keep her avocado tree alive.
Lucas Rodriguez
Deputy Director, Civic Engagement
Lucas is a 2L at Harvard Law School from Miami, FL. He graduated from Stanford in 2019 and then worked as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Washington DC prior to starting at HLS in 2021. At HLS, Lucas is also involved with the Journal on Legislation and La Alianza. He spent his 1L summer interning at the Constitutional Accountability Center back in DC. When he’s not doing law school, Lucas enjoys playing and watching soccer, scrolling his twitter feed, and snowboarding.
Delaney Barker
Deputy Director, Civic Engagement
Delaney is a 3L at Harvard Law School originally from Monroe, Ohio. Throughout law school, she has worked at the Democratic National Committee Voter Protection Department, the Fair Elections Center, and the HLS Election Law Clinic. She is also an Article Selection Editor for Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review. Before law school, Delaney graduated from Kenyon College with a degree in Political Science. In her spare time, Delaney enjoys watching horror movies and playing board games.
Carina McMillin
Deputy Director, Civic Engagement
Carina is a 3L at Harvard Law School from Sacramento, California. Before law school, she worked as a paralegal for a solo practitioner and taught English in South Korea. At HLS, she is also the Managing Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. Carina is an avid runner and is training for two races this fall. When she’s not running or studying, you can find her crocheting or watching The Amazing Race (sometimes at the same time).
