The Summit sends 10–15 BLSA representatives to countries across the African Diaspora.
- Past destinations include Ghana, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, and Liberia.
- The trip broadens BLSA’s network and strengthens connections with legal, political, and humanitarian communities.
Alumni Affairs
Informs alumni, educates students on HBLSA’s legacy, and preserves annual archives.
- Inform alumni of current events on campus
- Educates current students about the history and legacy of HBLSA,
- Preserves photos and documents each school year to contribute to the HBLSA archive.

Assists first-year and transfer students in the transition to law school, Harvard, and the greater Boston community.

P.U.L.S.E.
Powerfully Utilizing Law School Educations for Political and Social Justice (P.U.LS.E.) Committee spearheads the Harvard Black Law Students Association’s organizing and movement building efforts.
- Coordinates strategies and formulates position statements
- Plans events that center the social, political, and legal issues affecting the Black community
Social & Cultural Affairs
Plans social gatherings and cultural events for the Association to facilitate community
- Programming includes the HBLSA Halloween Party, HBLSA Ski Trip, Black & White Charity Ball, and HBLSA Boat Celebration.
Sponsorship
Maintains professional relationships with the private sector, particularly private law firms,
- Organizes law firm lunches, dinner and student engagement opportunities
- Organize the annual 1L Job Fair for private sector opportunities and any other major job interest initiatives
Spring Conference
Coordinate HBLSA’s largest annual convening for conversation about law, leadership, and the institutions that shape our lives
- Invite speakers and select a conference venue
- Oversee the conference lifecycle from theme selection and graphic designs to actualizing the event itself
Social & Cultural Affairs
Plans social gatherings and cultural events for the Association to facilitate community
- Programming includes the HBLSA Halloween Party, HBLSA Ski Trip, Black & White Charity Ball, and HBLSA Boat Celebration.
