In March 2026, the Harvard Black Law Students Association Spring Conference Committee welcomed over 150 attendees to a sold-out and reinvigorated Spring Conference. Led by Danielle Geathers ’27 and Chris Egi ’26, the conference theme, Now or Never: Redesigning Power, Rebuilding Justice, reflects the moment we are living in.
Across sectors, institutions are being tested. Trust is strained. Inequality remains persistent. And yet, many of us are entering the legal profession at precisely this moment. The question we are asking is not only what is broken. It is: If power was designed, what responsibility do we have to redesign it?
Over two days, we moved from understanding how systems were built to exploring how they might be rebuilt—more equitably, more sustainably, and more intentionally. The conference featured leading Black figures across law and culture, including former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch ’84, civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg ’99, and actress Yaya DaCosta.
