Congresswoman Ramirez currently serves on the Committee for Veterans Affairs and is the Vice-Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security. The daughter of working-class Guatemalan immigrants, she is the first Latina elected to Congress in Illinois and the entire Midwest.
