Allie is currently a 3L interested primarily in transactional tax and tax planning. She spent her 2L summer at Skadden, splitting her time between the DC and Palo Alto tax groups. Before coming to law school and discovering tax law, she graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Biology from the University of Toronto. Feel free to ask her about moving from math and STEM to tax, east coast vs west coast questions, or anything else!


Pierce Gillen

Pierce is a 3L from Naples, Florida. He spent his 1L summer interning at the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C., in the chambers of Hon. Patrick J. Urda. He spent last summer at the Houston office of Vinson & Elkins, where he will return after graduation.


Tex Adkins

Tex hails from Fort Worth. He holds a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an M.Phil. from Darwin College, Cambridge. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School and flies the C-130 in the Connecticut Air National Guard. He spent his law school summers at Kirkland & Ellis and Ropes & Gray in both Dallas and Boston.


Audrey Cheng

Audrey is from the Bay Area and majored in economics at Amherst College. She worked at YLS doing tax policy research before law school. She spent her 1L summer at Fenwick in SF and 2L summer at Davis Polk in NYC. She has done the Tax Clinic, the tax writing group with Prof. Brennan, and will be doing an independent clinical at the Joint Committee on Taxation during J-Term. Elaine Xie

Elaine is a 3L interested in tax law’s architecture and role in shaping political economy. Before coming to law school, she studied philosophy at Barnard College. She spent her 1L summer at Freshfields and 2L summer at Debevoise, both in New York. At HLS, she has interned at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Tax Litigation Clinic.
