Claire Carter (’25)
Claire Carter is a 2L from San Jose, California. On campus, she is a Deputy Executive Editor for the National Security Journal and is involved with the Harvard Mediation Program. She spent her 1L summer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California in the Criminal Division. She graduated summa cum laude from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology: Criminal Justice.

Jacob is a 3L from Maryland. On campus, he is involved with the National Security Journal and the International Law Journal. He spent his 1L summer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and his 2L summer at Gibson Dunn’s New York office. He graduated from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs in 2021.
Alexandra Bruer (‘24)
Alexandra served on active duty with the U.S. Army for five years. She holds a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Molly Cinnamon (’25)
Molly Cinnamon is a 2L from Los Angeles, California. On campus, Molly is a member of the Board of Student Advisers and is involved in JOLT. She spent her 1L summer interning in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Prior to law school, Molly was a privacy engineer at Palantir and a cybersecurity engineer at Cloudflare. She graduated from Harvard with a B.A. in Computer Science and Government.
David Marchese (‘25)
David Marchese is a 2L from McAllen, Texas. On campus, David is involved with the National Security Journal. He spent his 1L summer with the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to law school, he worked as a third grade literacy teacher and grant-writer through AmeriCorps. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Baylor University with a B.A. in history in 2019.

Prior to law school, she worked in aerospace & defense consulting in Washington, D.C. She graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2019 with a B.S. in Economics.

Elizabeth Shneider is a 2L from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On campus, Elizabeth is involved with the National Security Journal and spent this past summer interning with DOJ’s National Security Division. Before law school, she worked for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in International Relations.

Prior to law school, she worked at an aerospace & defense-focused strategy consulting firm. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019 with a B.A. in International Relations and French.
Matthew Urfirer (‘25)
Matthew Urfirer is a 2L from New York. On campus, he is Deputy Submissions Editor for the National Security Journal and a Project Leader with HLS Advocates for Human Rights. During his 1L summer, he worked at Perseus Strategies and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. Prior to law school, he worked as a consultant, a policy analyst, and as a political campaign manager. He graduated from Harvard College in 2017 with a B.A. in Psychology and Government.

Cristina Morrison (‘25)
Cristina Morrison is a 2L from Santa Fe, New Mexico. On campus, she is a senior editor with the National Security Journal and Journal on Legislation and a member of the Women’s Law Association and La Alianza. Cristina spent this past summer working as a law clerk for Chairman Senator Richard J. Durbin for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 2022 with a dual B.A. in International Relations and Political Science.
Preston Marquis (‘25)
Preston Marquis is a 2L from Norfolk, VA. On campus, he is a member of HLS Lambda, the Black Law Students Association, and the Journal of Law & Technology. During his 1L summer, he worked with the DOJ’s National Security Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to law school, he worked in the intelligence community. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2016 and in 2017, respectively.
