Protest Resources

REQUESTING LEGAL OBSERVERS

Our student chapter participates in Legal Observing on behalf of political activists, protesters, and their movements for economic, social, and racial justice. This program is coordinated with the NLG Mass Defense Committee.

Legal Observers monitor and take notes on the action/demonstration in order to create an objective record of any potential abuses against the protestors by authorities or counter-protestors.

To request Legal Observers at your event:

  1. Send a request by email to nlgmass-director@riseup.net. Include general information about the event including its date, duration, and purpose.
  2. CC or forward your email to hlsguild@mail.law.harvard.com.

Please send a request as soon as possible! Advance notice allows our volunteers to plan to attend your event.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AS AN ACTIVIST

If you have questions or concerns about your rights, call the NLG Mass Defense Hotline at 404-458-9449 or email nlgmass-director@riseup.net.

Our student chapter has also aggregated Know Your Rights materials for protestors engaged in the fight for justice. Contact us at hlsguild@mail.law.harvard.edu for more information.
