Scales of Justice is Harvard Law School’s very own co-ed a cappella ensemble! We are a close-knit group of 10–15 singers from various musical backgrounds dedicated to bringing harmony to Harvard Law. We perform regularly for the HLS community, alumni reunions, and other graduate schools. We also do special performances by request for professors seeking audio-visual aids and for student parties and charitable events, including the Public Interest Auction. In the past years, we have performed favorites from artists including Beyonce, The Jackson 5, Florence & the Machine, Katy Perry, and Alicia Keys, as well as original compositions.

Auditions are held at the start of each fall semester. We’re looking for men and women of all voice parts (including vocal percussionists!) who have a good sense of humor and enjoy close harmony. Rehearsals are twice a week for a total of just three or four hours, and make for a fun study break. If you write or arrange music, Scales especially welcomes your contribution.

Welcome to Harvard! We look forward to meeting you.
