What do you want out of your activities at Harvard Law School? Fun? Something to talk about in interviews? A break from your legal studies? A resume builder? If you’re looking for any of the above, you’re looking for Scales of Justice, Harvard Law School’s best – and only – a cappella group.
Scales of Justice is Harvard Law School’s very own co-ed a capella ensemble! We are a close-knit group of 10-15 singers from various musical backgrounds dedicated to bringing harmony to Harvard Law. We perform regularly for the HLS community, alumni reunions, and other graduate schools. We also do special performances by request for professors seeking audio-visual aids and for student parties and charitable events, including the Public Interest Auction. In the past years, we have performed favorites from artists including Madonna, Jason Mraz, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Barenaked Ladies, Evanescence, the Fugees, Rockapella and ABBA, as well as original compositions.
Auditions will be held at the start of the fall semester. We’re looking for men and women of all voice parts who have a good sense of humor and enjoy close harmony. Rehearsals are twice a week for a total of just three or four hours, and make for a fun study break. If you write or arrange music, Scales especially welcomes your contribution.
Feel free to email us with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to Harvard! We look forward to meeting you.
