About HLSMTA

Law school teaches students how to read and write about the law, but doesn’t always prepare students to stand up in a courtroom and make an argument. That’s what we learn to do at HLS Mock Trial— if you ever want to persuade judges and juries with words, HLS Mock Trial may be for you.

We compete at tournaments throughout the year and across the country. Students act as attorneys, conduct direct and cross-examinations, and deliver opening and closing statements. Some tournaments require teams to provide their own witnesses. In that event, students will take turns playing both witness and attorney roles.

We have a tradition of success in the (mock) courtroom, competing at and winning some of the best mock trial competitions in the country.

You can also learn more about us in our JD Admissions blog post here.
