Welcome to the Harvard Law and Political Economy Association, also known as “LPE”! We are a student organization that exists independently of, but in collaboration with, a growing scholarly and intellectual movement within legal academia, also called LPE. The LPE movement is comprised of a broad spectrum of left-oriented thinkers united around the conviction that our current political-economic system is characterized by various forms of injustice and inequality, and that the way we learn, practice, and ultimately, construct law, reinforces those inequalities.

Our student organization specifically aims to create community among like-minded students, promote critical discussions and perspectives on the relationship between law, politics, economics, and power, and ultimately encourage large-scale change toward a more equitable, democratic, and sustainable political-economic system. These are big goals and we are currently a very small organization, so if you are interested in getting involved to help us organize events like this, please reach out!
