Harvard Law School Blockchain & FinTech Initiative
Exploring the legal, economic, and policy frontiers of blockchain and financial innovation.
About Us
The Harvard Law School Blockchain & FinTech Initiative works to deepen students’ understanding of blockchain technology, the fintech ecosystem, and the legal, economic, social, and political challenges and opportunities these technologies present.
We aim to connect and prepare HLS students for careers in the fintech and blockchain industry. We are a vibrant community of students, professionals, and faculty at Harvard.
What We Do
Annual Conference
Our flagship Annual Conference convenes leading regulators, industry executives, academics, and practitioners to examine the most pressing issues at the intersection of blockchain, fintech, and the law. Through keynote conversations and expert panels, we create a forum for rigorous, forward-looking dialogue that shapes how financial innovation is understood and governed.
Lunch Panels
Throughout the academic year, we host curated lunch panels featuring leading voices from law firms, government, startups, financial institutions, and academia. These conversations provide students with timely insight into emerging legal frameworks, enforcement trends, and industry developments across the digital asset and fintech ecosystem.
Networking & Career Development
We facilitate meaningful connections between students and leaders in the blockchain and fintech space through small-group dinners, coffee chats, mentorship pairings, and recruitment pathways. Our programming is designed to support students’ professional development while strengthening Harvard Law School’s ties to the broader innovation community.
