Maria Vittoria Voltarelli

Maria Vittoria is an LL.M. candidate from Brazil. She has spent the past six years working with litigation and arbitration at Machado Meyer Advogados, a leading Brazilian law firm, representing clients in complex and high-stakes domestic and international arbitral proceedings across various sectors, including infrastructure, construction, oil & gas and energy. During her career, she has also served as secretary for arbitral tribunals. Maria Vittoria received her law degree from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, during which she also did an exchange program in Bucerius Law School, in Germany, and has a certificate in finance from the Graduate Institute of Business Administration of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. While in law school, she participated in various moot court competitions focused on commercial arbitration, including the Vis Moot, having received several awards for her and her team’s performance. For the past six years, she has also served a coach for the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro’s Vis Moot team. At HLS, she is also involved with the Harvard International Law Journal and the HLS Brazilian Studies Association.
