
Joel is an LL.M. Candidate from Singapore. He previously practised international commercial litigation and arbitration at Jones Day and Rajah & Tann in Singapore. He has an LL.B. (summa cum laude) from Singapore Management University, where he also taught legal research and writing as an adjunct lecturer. Joel represented Singapore in the world championship final of the 2022 Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, after seeding first in the preliminary and advanced rounds and winning all three Baxter, Dillard, and Evans top memorial prizes. He actively publishes book chapters and articles in international journals and was recently appointed to a working group commissioned by the Singapore Ministry of Law to review proposed changes to Singapore’s arbitration legislation.
