HIALSA Arbitration Review Submissions Instructions
The Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association is accepting submissions for the upcoming volume of its annual publication, the HIALSA Arbitration Review!
We are delighted that you are considering submitting your work to the HIALSA Arbitration Review. Below you will find detailed instructions to guide you through our submission process.
General Guidelines
We welcome submissions from students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate law programs or practitioners worldwide. Submissions may explore a any topic connected to international arbitration. The submissions may consist in academic articles or practice reports,
Submissions must adhere to the following requirements:
- Original Content: All submissions must be the author’s original work and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Word Limit: Submissions must not exceed 5,000 words, including footnotes.
- Formatting: Submissions must be double-spaced, with 1-inch margins, and in 12-point Times New Roman font.
Submission Categories
The HIALSA Law Review accepts the following types of submissions:
- Essays: Analytical pieces offering in-depth insights on a legal issue.
- Case Comments: Short analyses of recent or landmark decisions affecting international arbitration.
- Legislative Reviews: Critical assessments of new or pending legislation.
- Practice Reports: Reports highlighting practical experiences or developments in the field of international arbitration, including procedural innovations, tribunal management strategies, or trends in practice.
Citation Style
All citations must conform to the latest edition of the Bluebook. Footnotes are preferred over endnotes.
Submission Procedure
- Submissions must be made electronically via email to [email protected] with the subject line “HIALSA Arbitration Review Submission: [Title of your piece]”.
- Attach your submission as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). PDFs will not be accepted.
- Include a cover page in your submission with the following information:
- Your full name
- Institution
- Year of study (if student)
- Title of the submission
- Word count (including footnotes)
Deadlines
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. However, to be considered for our upcoming issue, please submit your work by February 28th, 2025.
