Investment Agreements at a Crossroads: An Introductory Overview

October 14, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Please join HIALSA for a discussion with HLS Professor Mark Wu on the topic of investment agreements.  He will provide an overview of international investment agreements for those seeking to learn about the subject, as well as discuss some of the controversial issues at play in ongoing negotiations.

Professor Wu researches extensively on international trade and international economic law, including issues concerning the intersection of trade and investment law. He previously served as a U.S. trade negotiator in the Services, Investment and IP division of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Beyond his scholarship, he also works with the WTO, World Bank, World Economic Forum, and International Centre on Trade and Sustainable Development on advising on various issues related to international economic law.
