Dear HIAC Participant,
On behalf of the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association (HIALSA), I am delighted to welcome you to the 2017 Harvard International Arbitration Conference (HIAC).
Since 2015, HIAC has been an annual event that gathers students, practitioners, and scholars interested in international arbitration to discuss current topics. This year, we look ahead to “The Future of International Arbitration: Rising to the Challenges of Today and Tomorrow.” We are grateful to the many distinguished speakers who will be joining us to offer their perspective on the challenges that the profession faces and how we who practice, or plan to practice, in international arbitration can adapt to meet those challenges.
We are very thankful for the generous support of the HIAC sponsors: Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. We would also like to thank Hogan Lovells for their sponsorship of the YAF breakfast.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Laura Gouvêa de França Pereira, Santiago Juan Gatica Garicoits, and Alex Kamath for all of their hard work in organizing HIAC. They have done a fantastic job, and we are all looking forward to seeing the results of their efforts!
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to join us. I hope that you will enjoy your time here in Cambridge!
Best regards,
Paige von Mehren
