Caio César Bueno Schinemann

Caio is an LL.M. Candidate from Brazil. He is also a Ph.D. candidate at the University of São Paulo Law School, where his dissertation project examines the challenge of arbitration awards under Brazilian and comparative law. Prior to his studies at Harvard Law School, Caio worked as a litigation and arbitration lawyer, representing clients in high-stakes corporate arbitration and complex litigation, and authoring legal opinions on arbitration and civil procedure. In addition to his law practice, he served as a teaching fellow at INSPER Law School, where he co-developed and supervised a legal practice course. Caio is the author of “Arbitration and enforcement: jurisdiction, powers of the arbitrator, and third parties” (Thomson Reuters, 2024), and has contributed numerous book chapters and articles on arbitration and civil procedure. He has been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Brazil” for 2025. At Harvard Law School, his academic focus includes international and investment arbitration, corporate law, and comparative civil procedure.
