Hafsa Ahmad received her B.A. from Middlebury College and her LL.B. from the University of London before joining Harvard Law School as an LL.M. Candidate (’24). Hafsa spent more than six years practicing in Pakistan, where she was a Senior Associate at the prominent law firm, Cornelius, Lane & Mufti as part of the firm’s international arbitration team. Hafsa has represented clients before the LCIA, ICC and ad hoc tribunals in various matters, including energy sector disputes and arbitrations against the Government of Pakistan. Hafsa routinely appeared in domestic courts as counsel in anti-suit injunction proceedings and international arbitral award enforcement hearings before the Superior Courts of Pakistan. Hafsa was also a member of the Faculty of Law at Universal College Lahore from 2018 to 2022. Prior to her practice, Hafsa also represented Pakistan in various moot court competitions, including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Apart from her experience as an arbitration practitioner, Hafsa has done extensive pro bono work, including public interest litigation and drafting a bill for maternity rights in Pakistan. Hafsa is a licensed pilot and an avid fencer.
