Co-President: Hayley Barton ’24
Hayley is a 2L from Nevada City, California. She graduated from UCLA in 2019, where she majored in Psychology and double minored in Theater and Environmental Systems and Society. Prior to law school, she had the opportunity to work as a teacher in Thailand. As a 1L, Hayley became involved with the Environmental Law Review, Scales of Justice A Capella, and Parody. This fall she looks forward to working with the Environmental Law and Policy Clinic as well. This past summer she interned with Just Atonement, working on the intersection of climate change and human rights. Hayley’s hobbies include anything outdoors, including skiing, hiking, scuba diving, and surfing, as well anything music and theater related!
Co-President: Kipper Berven, ’24
Kipper (he/him) is a 2L from San Francisco, California. He stayed in the Bay Area for college, graduating from UC Berkeley in 2020 with degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Economics and Policy. Before starting law school, Kipper travelled to 18 different National Parks in a converted campervan while remotely interning with environmental nonprofits and tutoring the LSAT. As a 1L, Kipper participated with EELP, HELR, the Mississippi Delta Project, Law Students for Climate Accountability, and the Harvard Climate Internship Program. This fall he looks forward to the Environmental Law Clinic. In his free time, Kipper loves being outside: backpacking, surfing, biking, or just stringing up a slackline and throwing a frisbee in the park. This summer he interned with the New York State Office of the Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Bureau.

Dolly is a 2L originally from Beijing, China. She grew up in southern California and graduated from Williams College in 2018, where she majored in Philosophy and Economics. Between college and law school, she worked at NERA Economic Consulting in the NYC antitrust group. At HLS, Dolly is involved with the Environmental Law Review, EELP, and APALSA. She spent her 1L summer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in the Office of Enforcement. She likes to climb, hike, ski, and bake.

Brandon is a 2L from Long Beach, California. He graduated in 2020 from UC Berkeley, where he studied Economics and was a member of Camp Kesem. Immediately before law school, he worked for a plaintiff’s side law firm and was a freelance tutor. As a 1L, he was involved with EELP, HELR, and will be a part of the Emmett Environmental Law and Policy Clinic this upcoming fall. He spent his 1L summer working for the California Attorney General in the Natural Resources Law section.
External Outreach Co-Director: Sheila Panyam ’24
Sheila Panyam is a 2L from Portland, Oregon. She studied philosophy at the University of Washington where she took classes on the ethics of climate change. Now in law school, she is interested in the intersectionality between climate law and asylum law, and hopes to one day draft our nation’s climate asylum policy. Sheila serves as an article editor on the Harvard Environmental Law Review and competes on the mock trial team. In her spare time, Sheila likes to play the electric guitar, work on her novel, and hike in the picturesque Pacific Northwest. Her favorite plant is the monkey puzzle tree.

Olivia den Dulk is a 2L from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Calvin University in 2020 with majors in Environmental Studies and International Relations, and prior to law school she worked to reduce waste and promote recycling through producer responsibility at the Product Stewardship Institute. At school, Olivia is involved with Advocates for Human Rights, the Environmental Law Review, and will be part of the Immigration and Refugee Clinic this fall. She spent her 1L summer at the Clean Air Task Force. Outside of school, she loves to run, hike, and do pottery.
Communications Director: Michaela Morris ’24
Michaela Morris is a 2L from Seabrook, NH. She spent two years between college and law school working as an Oceans Associate for Environment America, where she directed a campaign to save endangered North Atlantic right whales. At HLS, she works as a research assistant for the Environment & Energy Law Program and serves as a managing editor for the Environmental Law Review. She spent her 1L summer at the Massachusetts’ Office of the Attorney General in the Energy & Telecommunications Division. In her free time, she enjoys reading, skiing, running, and spending time outside.
