Our History
Harvard Law School Democrats is one of the oldest student chapters of the Democratic Party and one of the oldest student organizations at Harvard Law School. Our members include students from nearly all states of the Union. Every year, HLS Democrats organizes events on policy and politics and connects students with political leaders in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country. On election years, HLS Democrats is particularly active, organizing debates and helping students campaign for Democrats up and down the ballot. In 2016, HLS Democrats knocked on thousands of doors in New Hampshire, helping to deliver that state for Democrats. In 2020, HLS Democrats connected over 50 students with campaigns in Georgia, Florida, Montana, California, New York, Iowa, and more.
