AFA Celebrates Promotion of MAJ Jenna Reed (USMC)

On November 17, AFA celebrated the promotion of one of its members Jenna Reed, from Captain to Major (USMC). Colonel McCarthy, a Marine colonel who is a National Security Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School, came to do the honors. Thanks to Colonel McCarthy for doing the honors, and thanks to everyone for coming out!

Arnold Porter Attorneys Discuss Leveraging Government and Military Service to Succeed at a Law Firm

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and AFA co-sponsored a lunch panel on leveraging public sector experience to succeed in a private sector, law firm environment. The panel included Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer partners and associates with considerable public sector experience:

  • Chuck Blanchard (HLS ‘85) who previously served as the General Counsel of the Air Force and the Army
  • Amy Jeffress who previously served as the Justice Department Attaché to the U.S. Embassy in London, and as Counselor to the Attorney General
  • Maggie Maurone who served as an Air Force Intelligence Officer
  • M. Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni (HLS ‘15) who served as a Navy Surface Warfare Officer
