The Armed Forces Association’s logo attempts to convey our members’ experience in the military and their study of the law and justice.
The text at the bottom of the logo, “To the Heritage and Promise of Law,” is part of the inscription on the war memorial on the 4th floor of Langdell Library, dedicated to the HLS alums who gave their lives in military service during the World Wars, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The arrows point downward in part to distinguish from U.S. Army Special Forces and in part because the majority (but not all) of our members are veterans who have laid down arms since separating from the military.
