Israel, Syria, and the Middle East: An International Law Perspective

Col. Adv. Pnina Sharvit Baruch, a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for National Security Studies and Head of the Program on Law and National Security, will be speaking about the recent wave of terrorism in Israel, the ongoing conflict in Syria, and the general dynamics of the Middle East, from an international law perspective.

While in the International Law Department of the IDF, Sharvit Baruch served as a legal advisor in Israel’s delegations to negotiations with the Palestinians, and in 2000, she also participated in negotiations with Syria. Following her retirement from the IDF, she joined the faculty of the Tel Aviv University Law School, where she teaches courses related to public international law and conflict resolution, and also teaches international law at the National Security College. Refreshments will be served.
