Coming up in a few weeks: Nov 9 Fireside Chat with Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella

On November 9 at lunch, JLSA, AFI, the Women’s Law Association, and the Canadian Law Students Association are hosting Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella for a wide-ranging fireside chat. Justice Abella was born in a displaced person’s camp in Germany after World War II, and she came to Canada as a refugee when she was a child. She is the first Jewish woman appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada and the first refugee ever appointed to the bench in Canada. Justice Abella has been a champion for human rights throughout her career.
