Sherif Magdy El Gabaly is the Founder and CEO of Enara Group, a leading renewable energy company specializing in solar PV, wind energy, and green molecules. Operating across Egypt and East Africa, Enara has developed and operated 250 MW of renewable energy assets, with an ambitious pipeline of 1GW+ of PV and wind projects and 1MT/year of green molecules planned by 2030. Under Sherif’s leadership, Enara’s service arm was recognized by the Financial Times in 2024 as the 7th fastest-growing company in Africa and the 1st in Egypt.

As Chairman of the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), Sherif has driven several transformative initiatives. These include launching the OECD-MENA Business Youth Platform, re-launching the National Business Agenda (NBA) in collaboration with the U.S.-based Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) during COVID-19, and introducing the Entrepreneurship Award, celebrating business leaders across generations. Under his leadership, the EJB has also played a key role in shaping Egypt Vision 2030, providing strategic recommendations through its committees.

Previously, as Head of the Energy Committee at EJB, Sherif played a pivotal role in advancing Egypt’s renewable energy sector. He was instrumental in launching the Feed-in-Tariff program, enabling the construction of the Benban Solar Park, Africa’s largest solar photovoltaic park, and securing $2 billion in foreign direct investment.

Recognized as one of Africa’s leading young voices, Sherif has been featured twice on the prestigious Choiseul Africa 100 list in 2023 and 2024, honoring the most prominent young African leaders shaping the continent’s future.

Sherif holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Helwan University (Egypt), a International MBA from IE University (Spain) and the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto (Canada), and has completed Executive Education in Project and Infrastructure Finance at London Business School.
