Laura Stein serves as Senior Vice President – General Counsel to the Clorox Company, and was previously the General Counsel of the H.J. Heinz Company and a partner in the law firm Morrison & Foerster. She has been recognized as one of the most influential general counsel in the U.S., winning numerous awards for her leadership both as a corporate officer and as a principled lawyer. For instance, she has received the ABA Margaret Brent Award, the Legal Momentum Women of Achievement Award, the Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence Award, the Ted Craig Humanitarian Award and the Corporate Board Member America’s Top General Counsel Recognition Award. Furthermore, the National Law Journal has named her as one of the 20 most influential general counsel in America.

Ms. Stein has been honored by Harvard before and remains an important part of the HLS community: the Harvard Law Bulletin has highlighted her as one of 50 alumnae who “have used their law degree to take them to extraordinary places” and she is a co-chair of the Harvard Law School Program on the Future of the Legal Profession She is also the co-chair of the Corporate Pro-Bono Advisory Board, a director of Franklin Resources, Inc., and is on the Leadership of Legal Diversity, among many, many other demanding positions. Ms. Stein speaks six languages and has lived in China and Italy.
