Jennifer Chacon

 

Jennifer Chacón is a Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School and a Professor of Law at University of California Irvine School of Law, where she also previously served as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Ms. Chacón specializes in immigration law, constitutional law, and criminal law and procedure, particularly the intersection between immigration law and criminal procedure.

In the words of one of the HLS community members who nominated Ms. Chacón, Her passion for criminal justice and immigration law shines through in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Professor Chacon’s commitment to her students is inspiring–she is always willing to make extra time or go the extra mile.” One of Ms. Chacón’s messages to her students is that external metrics, “are not a measure of our worth, that life is long, and that success can be self-defined.”

Ms. Chacón earned her B.A. from Stanford University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.
