Janice Rogers Brown is a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She was previously an Associate Judge of the California Supreme Court. Prior to her career on the bench, Ms. Rogers Brown was Deputy Legislative Counsel for the office of Legislative Counsel in California, and then spent eight years as Deputy Attorney General for the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the California Attorney General’s Office. Ms. Rogers Brown was also Deputy Secretary and General Counsel for California’s Business, Transportation, and Housing Authority and Legal Affairs Secretary for Governor Pete Wilson.
Ms. Rogers Brown earned her B.A. from California State University, Sacramento, her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, and her L.L.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
