Mabrouka M’Barek is a Tunisian Constituent Assembly Member originally from Sfax, Tunisia, and she is responsible for her political party’s media relations. Her signature project has been the creation of an open government initiative in Tunisia, the OpenGovTN task force. Therein, she advocates for a more participatory government, the rebuilding of a democratic model, and universal human rights. She also sat on the Preamble, Finance, Rules & Immunity Committees of the first Constitutional Commission, which was tasked with drafting the constitution’s preamble and distilling its fundamental principles. She worked in the United States as an auditor before working with humanitarian NGOs and human rights-based civil societies in the Middle East. Most recently, she has worked to sponsor a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing and to ban fracking,
M’Barek studied law and management in France and earned her M.B.A. at the Reims Business School with a focus on the Arab World.
