MEET THE 2021-22 BOARD!
Ytran is a 3L from the Bay Area who was told by a psychic to live near the water for optimal happiness and success, so of course she is moving back to California ASAP! She spent her 1L summer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of California and her 2L summer at Alston & Bird in LA. She plans to practice environmental law and is interested in all things sustainability! Outside of law school, she enjoys thrift shopping, doing DIY projects, and caring for her 30+ houseplants. Ytran’s favorite things about the West Coast are $1 tacos, Philz, and the sunshine!
Serena is a 3L from sunny Orange County, CA, and can’t wait to get back to SoCal. She studied computer science and worked for a year as a Product Manager before coming to law school. At HLS, Serena is also a BSA and a member of APALSA. She spent her 1L summer working for the Electronic Privacy Information Center and her 2L summer at O’Melveny in LA. Her favorite things about the West Coast are the unparalleled weather, low-key vibes, and diversity of amazing food.
Treasurer (Master of Coin)
Ryan is a 2L from the Bay Area. He studied Government and Psychology at Harvard for undergrad and spent a year working for the City of Berkeley on cyber resilience policy. At HLS, Ryan is also a BSA and involved with JOLT, APALSA, KAHLS, CAMHS, and other wonderful communities. He spent his 1L summer with the Technology Companies Group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Menlo Park office. His favorite things about the West Coast are the sports teams (go Warriors #chefcurry), surfer vernacular, and diverse people.
Communications Director (Press Secretary)
Jessica is a 3L from SoCal. She studied computer engineering and computer science and worked on software for mission control at NASA JPL. At HLS, Jessica is also involved with JOLT and APALSA. She spent her 1L and 2L summers working on patent prosecution at Fish & Richardson’s SV office. In her free time, she can be found looking at food, learning about food, making food, and most importantly, eating food. Her favorite things about the West Coast include sunshine and beaches (and food).
Public Interest Chairs (PI Jedi)
Daniel is a 2L from Los Angeles, and he is not at all ready for the frigid New England winter. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara in 2016, Daniel worked in government and politics, mostly at the local level in L.A. He spent his 1L summer with DOJ’s Public Integrity Section and will spend his 2L summer at a firm. Outside of HLS, Daniel enjoys spending time with his fiancée, going to concerts and music festivals, and cheering on the greatest soccer team in the world: Liverpool Football Club.
Sankalp is a 3L from San Jose, CA. After graduating from Georgetown, he spent a year living in Mexico City before moving back to the Bay to work as a management consultant. At HLS, he is interested in studying how we can restore faith in government as a means to solve complex collective action problems. After graduation, Sankalp hopes to move back to the west coast to work in local or state government. In his spare time, you can usually find him hiking, cycling, or backpacking (preferably on the West Coast!).
Natalie is a 3L from Orange County, California and spent her undergrad years at UCLA studying political science and entrepreneurship. She decided to move to Boston to experience what seasons are like and to try out the East Coast. At HLS, Natalie is involved with the Harvard Immigration & Refugee Clinic and WLA. She spent her 1L summer at Skadden LA and her 2L summer in the NY office. Natalie misses California’s great beaches and how anything below 60 degrees is considered really cold there.

Jeewon is a 3L from Manila, Philippines. She worked at a law firm in San Francisco before law school and fell in love with the West Coast then. Her favorite things about the West Coast are the food/coffee/wine scene, the weather, the views, and the people. Jeewon loves cooking, karaoke, writing Yelp reviews, and making Spotify playlists. At HLS, Jeewon has also served on the board of KAHLS, where she was Sponsorship Chair. She spent her 1L summer and part of her 2L summer working at Covington’s SF office, and most of her 2L summer working at Cooley’s SF office.
Jean is a 2L from Thousand Oaks, CA. She studied biology and psychology while attending USC for undergrad, and her favorite things about the West Coast are the abundant food options, perfect weather, and laid-back culture. At HLS, Jean is a submissions editor for Harvard Business Law Review, and is involved with the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and Women’s Law Association. She spent her 1L summer working at a litigation boutique firm in downtown LA, and is excited to return to LA after graduation.
Ronan is a 2L from Ann Arbor Michigan. He graduated from DePaul University with a degree in philosophy and psychology before coming right to law school. At HLS, Ronan is also a BSA, the President of the Student Mental Health Association, and a member of the Prison Legal Assistance Program. He spent his 1L summer as a summer associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. After graduation, Ronan is looking forward to exploring career options on the West Coast where he enjoys the weather, the people, and the wonderful food.
Ellen is a 3L from Los Angeles, California who hates LA traffic. Before law school, she worked for a year in consulting and spent her summers at Sidley Austin in San Francisco and Debevoise & Plimpton in New York. At HLS, Ellen is involved in the Women’s Law Association, Harvard Business Law Review, APALSA, and Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project. In her free time, Ellen enjoys eating at and exploring new restaurants, reformer pilates (it’s a thing in LA), making and consuming avocado toast and açaí bowls, and traveling.
Jee Young Kim
Jee Young is a 2L from Cupertino, CA. Sadly, she had to leave the West Coast to go to college in DC. She then stayed on the East Coast to work as a paralegal in New York, but she hopes to go back to the West Coast soon! In her free time, she enjoys trying out new restaurants and traveling. Her favorite things about the West Coast are the food, the hiking, and of course the weather.
Internal Chairs (Fun Captains)
Mudit is a 2L from Bakersfield, California. He attended UC Irvine and graduated with a degree in public health. At HLS, Mudit finally got his first taste of different seasons, which actually made him miss Bakersfield. He spent his 1L summer at the DOJ Antitrust Division’s San Francisco Office. Besides West Coast Club, Mudit is involved in Mock Trial, the Harvard Business Law Review, and the Prison Legal Assistance Project. In his free time, he enjoys arguing about NBA hot takes, playing soccer, and watching movies.
Meera is a 3L from Orange County, California. She has a background in bioengineering and, last year, earned a Master’s degree from HMS. Before law school, Meera worked in strategy consulting and was based out of Los Angeles. At HLS, Meera has been involved in JOLT, HALB, SALSA, and APALSA. She spent her law school summers interning at law firms in Southern California. Her favorite things about the west coast are dog beaches, palm trees, avocados, and the 405 (just kidding).
Jessica is a 3L from Orange County, CA, and is excited to be returning to SoCal after law school. She worked as an electrical engineer and patent agent prior to law school and is interested in all intersections of technology and law. At HLS, aside from her involvement in West Coast Club, Jessica is the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Law and Technology and a former WLA and APALSA board member. She worked at Kirkland & Ellis LA in the IP Litigation group this past summer and can’t wait to get back to the weather, the beach, and LA/OC’s foodie culture.
