Being the first in your family to go to college is an accomplishment in and of itself. Making it to law school on top of that is the definition of amazing! However, because of the immense costs and socioeconomic barriers, the legal profession is often void of people from low-income backgrounds.
First-generation college students and people from low-income backgrounds frequently find themselves lacking resources and infrastructure in law school. Without having college-educated parents or the money to participate in expensive activities, it’s easy to feel left out and unable to speak about a part of you that no one seems to notice. This can lead to a culture shock.
Supero is here to change that. Supero offers community, guidance, and support. We help bring the discussion of socioeconomics to the legal profession in order to make it more accessible and welcoming to people from different backgrounds.
