However, committee members do not have voting power within the Student Council itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Committee Meetings are typically held <strong>bi-weekly<\/strong>, alternating with Student Council meetings, to ensure ongoing collaboration and momentum across Student Government projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Student Council Meetings<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Student Council<\/strong> is composed of all <strong>elected members<\/strong> of the HLS Student Government. This body serves as the formal decision-making branch of Student Government and is empowered to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pass resolutions expressing the will of the student body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approve initiatives and funding proposals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee the broader work of Student Government committees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All students are invited to attend Student Council meetings and contribute to open discussions, though <strong>only elected representatives<\/strong> may vote.<br>Council meetings are also held <strong>bi-weekly<\/strong>, alternating with Committee Meetings. These meetings begin similarly to Student Council Meetings but eventually break out into specific committee business. All students are welcome to join. Once a student is a member of a committee, they are empowered to vote on matters before the committee; however, committee members exercise no voting power within the Student Council.
