Lodovico Amianto: President
LL.M. Candidate, Class of 2022

Lodovico is an LL.M. candidate at Harvard Law School, which he attends as a Franco Bonelli scholar. Prior to HLS, he interned in the international arbitration departments of Shearman & Sterling and Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes for approximately ten months. In June 2020, Lodovico earned a law degree summa cum laude from the University of Turin, and while in law school, he participated in various exchange programs with Georgetown University, McGill University, and the Higher School of Economics. He also competed in the Willem C. Vis and Philip C. Jessup moot courts, where he received, inter alia, the Eric E. Bergsten Award (best team orals) and the Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton Championship Round Award (best individual oralist). In his free time, Lodovico enjoys the company of Grisham’s novels and seeks to gain financial literacy in the stock and real estate markets.

Marta Canneri: Vice President of Finance
J.D. Candidate, Class of 2022

Marta is a third-year J.D. student from Milan. She attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she received an Honors BA in History and Political Science. Prior to law school, she spent three years at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. At Harvard, Marta is also the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Law Journal and a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. She has spent her summers at the Legal Aid Society and Debevoise & Plimpton.

Michael Tagliavini: Vice President of Academic Events
LL.M. Candidate, Class of 2022

Michael graduated summa cum laude from the University of Bologna and holds an LLM in Competition Law from King’s College London. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law and Business at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome.

At Harvard Law School, Michael is the Treasurer of the HLS Antitrust Association (HLSAA).

Before joining Harvard Law, he worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP (Rome office), where he advised on cartel and abuse of dominance proceedings, merger control, media plurality and state aid in several cases concerning the transport, high-tech, basic industries, banking, and media sectors. In 2018, Michael also trained for a five-month period with the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, where he worked on complex merger cases in the telecommunications and media sectors and policy projects relating to mergers and acquisitions.

His main academic interests include Competition Law, European Union Law and Law & Economics. Michael is passionate about music, national and international politics, and travelling.

Andrea Vignini: Vice President of Social Events
LL.M. Candidate, Class of 2022

Andrea is an LL.M. Candidate at Harvard Law School (Class ’22). He holds a Diploma in Law from Scuola Sant’Anna (Pisa) and a Law Degree from the University of Pisa, where he is also a Ph.D. candidate in Administrative Law. Andrea has practiced as a trainee lawyer at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton (Rome) and at the Legal Services Directorate of the Bank of Italy, where he also worked as a research intern in the Regulation and Macroprudential Analysis Directorate. He is a Bank of Italy’s “Donato Menichella” Scholar (2018) and was admitted to the Rome Bar (2020). Before joining Harvard Law School, he served as an Expert to the Cabinet of the Italian Minister of European Affairs, working on the coordination and implementation of the Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan.

His main academic interests cover the international regulation of financial institutions and the institutional development of the European market for banking and financial services. He is also an enthusiastic supporter of Juventus FC, and he is still looking for the best Italian pizza in Boston.
