Please join HIALSA for a lunch talk on the basics of international arbitration.\u00a0Two of the most recognized thought leaders in the field,\u00a0Professor Emmanuel Gaillard<\/a><\/strong> and Dr. Yas Banifatemi<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0will give an introduction on the fundamentals of\u00a0international arbitration, and\u00a0their view\u00a0on what it means to work in this field of practice.\u00a0This talk will be of particular interest to those who are keen to learn about international arbitration, but have not had much experience in this field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Gaillard<\/a> founded and heads Shearman & Sterling\u2019s International Arbitration practice. He is a universally recognized leading authority and a star practitioner in the fields of both commercial and investment treaty arbitration. He has advised and represented companies, States and State-owned entities in hundreds of international arbitrations.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Banifatemi<\/a> co-heads Shearman & Sterling\u2019s International Arbitration practice. She is also a Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She has been repeatedly praised and described as \u201cone of the best technicians in the international investment arbitration field\u201d and \u201can outstanding lawyer in every possible respect\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
