They will present the UNCITRAL Secretariat Guide on the New York Convention (the Convention\u2019s spirit and philosophy), the\u00a0newyorkconvention1958.org<\/a>\u00a0website (an interactive platform tracking the interpretation, application and evolution of the New York Convention), and will discuss the goal of the New York Convention.<\/p>\n

Professor Gaillard founded and heads Shearman & Sterling\u2019s International Arbitration practice. He is a universally recognized leading authority and a star practitioner in the fields of both commercial and investment treaty arbitration. He has advised and represented companies, States and State-owned entities in hundreds of international arbitrations.<\/p>\n

Dr. Banifatemi co-heads Shearman & Sterling\u2019s International Arbitration practice. She is also a Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She has been repeatedly praised and described as \u201cone of the best technicians in the international investment arbitration field” and \u201can outstanding lawyer in every possible respect\u201d.<\/p>\n
