The objective of international arbitration is generally to obtain\u2014or avoid\u2014the payment of compensation.\u00a0 Yet damages can be treated as an afterthought by attorneys due to a lack of familiarity with the principles of valuation. \u00a0Attorneys adept in these principles, in contrast, can add value to a matter and distinguish themselves.<\/p>\n

Together with HIALSA, a group of practitioners from leading law firms\u2014Hugh Carlson<\/a>\u00a0(3C),\u00a0Lee Rovinescu<\/a>\u00a0(Freshfields),\u00a0Agustin Sanz<\/a>\u00a0(3C), and\u00a0Mallory Silberman<\/a>\u00a0(Arnold &\u00a0Porter Kaye Scholer)\u2014is pleased to invite HLS students to a three-part workshop that will explore the legal principles and valuation standards applicable to damages in international arbitration.\u00a0 They will be joined by Pablo Lopez Zadicoff<\/a>, an economist with significant experience in the valuation of damages.<\/p>\n

The format of this workshop will be a combination of lecture and hands-on training.\u00a0 There will be suggested reading for each two-hour session, and light in-class math will be involved.\u00a0 \u00a0This workshop is not for credit. \u00a0If you are planning on attending, please register\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
