Arbitrating Competition Law Claims

March 15, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Please join HIALSA Lunch talk with Stefan Kröll, an independent Geman arbitrator and director of the Center for International Dispute Resolution at Bucerius Law School. We will discuss the topic of competition law in international arbitration. Since the U.S. Supreme Court in Mitsubishi v. Soler declared competition law disputes to be arbitrable, claims arising under competition law have played a major role in arbitration in the US and Europe. The talk will give an overview on the specific problems arising in the arbitration context from the particular nature of competition law, in particular, its public policy elements from a European perspective.

Lunch will be served.
