Descendants exists to provide community and support for Black American slave descendants at Harvard Law School. It is concerned with the political, cultural, and social issues impacting Black American slave descendants. Descendants strives to affirm and celebrate the experiences and identities of Black American slave descendants at Harvard and beyond.
Let us bring together the descendants of Black American slaves in order to build community at Harvard Law School. Let us find courage and support in our collective identity so that we may explore and address the issues impacting Black American slave descendants at Harvard and within society. Let us also be informed about and actively engaged with issues impacting the entire Black community at Harvard, nationwide, and worldwide. Finally, let us never forget from where we have come.
